your right benny it really needs to be warmer for roundup, but diesel fuel will work too. Just like paraquat its nonselective.

Yeah, RoundUp will work, but it'll take about 2 weeks to show any signs of death.
Airplanes are spraying it some now.

Cooler weather just slows it down, dead is dead. Gramoxone actually likes the warmer weather too.

Yes, I should've stated that in this cooler weather, it'll take a couple of weeks to show signs of death.
On a 90 degree day, you can spray Gramoxone and see where you've been an hour later.

Just be careful with the paraquat, it is a restricted use pesticide. Need a license to buy it, but don't know if you need one in Mississippi to apply it. Always follow the label directions. Go to greenbook.net for the msds.

While on this subject, what are some good chemicals to use to kill early weeds(clover and broadleaf) and wild onions in a bermuta(sp?) grass lawn and when is the best time frame to do it in?

I'd say 24D because it won't kill your grass.

I'd agree with GH22 on the 2-4-d & now's the time, before trees start
budding out really heavy.
I've already got plum trees blooming !!!!!!!!!!! Guess I better hurry.

2.4-D now on the broadleaves. But be careful cause it will drift bigtime. Come back later with MSMA to take out the dallisgrass. You'll have to spray MSMA about 3 times throughout the spring and summer to get the dallis. Bermuda is pretty resistant to MSMA, zoysia is not as tolerant and definitely don't spray it on St. Augustine.

FYI
MSMA will smoke Centipede as well. If you want some info on lawn care and chemicals, try checking out the extension service web site at
