CHARLOTTE, North Carolina (Ticker) -- Mike Krzyzewski can overtake a longtime coaching rival and lead Duke to another regional semifinal.

The top-seeded Blue Devils meet No. 9 Mississippi State in a second-round game in the Austin Region on Sunday.

Krzyzewski, who moved past former Texas El-Paso coach Don Haskins into 16th place all-time with 720 victories, can surpass former North Carolina coach Dean Smith and become the winningest coach in tournament history. In 21 NCAA Tournaments, Krzyzewski is 65-17.

The Blue Devils seek to advance to their eighth consecutive Sweet 16, the nation's longest streak.

After falling behind midway through the first half on Friday, Duke beat 16th-seeded Delaware State, 57-46.

Shelden Williams collected 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Daniel Ewing scored 12 and Sean Dockery added eight in his first game back after missing six with a torn MCL in his right knee.

Mississippi State bounced back from a 12-point first-half deficit and eliminated Stanford, 93-70, on Friday.

Lawrence Roberts collected 23 points and 14 rebounds, while Winsome Frazier added 20 points in his best outing for the Bulldogs since he suffered a stress fracture in his left foot on January 8.

The Bulldogs, who were ousted as a No. 2 seed in the second round by Xavier last year, are looking to reach the regional semifinals for the first time since their trip to the 1996 Final Four.

Mississippi State outscored Stanford, 49-27, in the second half and held the Cardinal to nearly 27 percent (9-of-34) from the floor.

The Bulldogs have won both previous meetings against the Blue Devils, but the schools have not met since 1937-1938.
