I can rember when all those teams would come to state. Man, I got really intoxicated. I guess the new way cuts down on being to drunk. But I like the old way better.

To me each system had it's pluses and minuses. The old way you could watch a whole bunch of teams play at one place and see some great baseball, but it was tough on the pitchers as the amount of games played in such a short time was very tough. However that was back in the days of gorilla ball, and you could really see some offensive showcases like that. The super regional you don't have that kind of pressure on the pitchers and you still see quality baseball. The thing I really dislike about the super regionals is how they do the pairings. Two out of the past four years, LSU has had to play Tulane to get to Omaha and each year I felt both had teams that were good enough to go to Omaha. Same problems out in California. I don't think that is fair at all as just becuase two teams are right next door they should play each other in the super regional.

The only way for the NCAA to make money on regionals is to put in-state teams playing against one another. LSU will have to go through Tulane and/or La Lafayette to get to Omaha, and they will not be able to do it. Also look for Southern to get in that regional some way or another. You've got 3 deserving teams to host in louisiana, but the ncaa won't be able to do it. LSU will get the regional for money reasons, but they will catch holy hell. The same goes for the state of Florida, FSU, Miami and Florida.

I really don't see MSU out of the picture as far as a regional host is concerned right now. It may sound stupid but look for state to make some noise in the tourney, might even win it if they'd get their heads straight and play ball. I've seen stranger things happen.

So that big deal that the SEC guys were making about no team having 40 wins this season yesterday during the Vandy/Fla game was just bs?

I honestly didn't know the won 40.....took long enough, had that 40 jersey in that dugout for over 4 yrs now.
