Big THANKS to Jeff for hosting my sons and me for a couple of days out of Venice! Jeff said his #1 goal was to see each boy holding a bent rod with a bull red on the other end, and that mission was accomplished! In addition t lots of memories, we brought home plenty of filets too!
Here's a picture of Jeff helping the 5 year old hoist up his lunker bull red...
Jeff helping the 7 year old get his big one into the boat. The look on the brothers' faces is priceless! The boat in the background is a charter with 2 couples on it - they erupted in cheers each time the respective bull was boated!
Jeff holding up the 7 year old's trophy...
The thing about great fishing trips is the quiet ride home!
If I can afford to do so those two big red drums are destined for the trophy room. Thanks Jeff, this weekend was the substance of every little boy's dreams!

It was either really hot or someone threw Jeff overboard in that first pic. Now which one was it?

Awww, you shouldna gone and done that. My boat is loaded and ready to go, but it is loaded with huntin gear ready for the relocation. So I'm jealous.
Was it hot out there? Looks like not much wind blowing. I counted 33 specks, bout 19 and under, but they always look smaller in pics. I'm guessing croakers. Am I right?

We had a lot of fun. I haven't ever fished with kids that young before. I enjoyed the heck out of it. I wish we could have caught more fish, but it was a decent trip nonetheless. We had rain the first morning (hence my soaked look), and lots of wind the second morning. The boys are good fishermen especially considering their ages. The could both throw out their own lines, and by the end of the trip they were baiting live shrimp through the head without killing them and without slinging them off the hook. It was a good time and I look forward to doing it again.

It killed me to even allow such putrid hats on my boat!! Normally it's purple and gold only!!!
