Castoroides ohioensis was a huge beaver of the Pleistocene which lived only in North America. It was very similar to the modern beaver but was much larger and had a narrower tail and ridges on its incisors. Estimates of its size and weight are usually from 450 lbs and up and about 6 to 8 feet in size.
