It's finally official. The UA athletic department announced today it has raised the basketball coaches' salary past that of the football coach. It seems that they must have conceded that their football program is relegated to a lower tier than they enjoyed under legendary coach Paul "Bear " Bryant.

Alabama becomes the third SEC school to give up on football behind KY and Vandy They also pay their basketball coach more than thier football coach.
