Ole Miss' QB

Hey guys,

From what I can tell over the internet is that Coach O is staying with Spurlock. Personally I just don't see where this kid is going to get it done. He couldn't handle the pressure last year and they guy is only 5'11" and from what the magazines have said, that is giving him an inch or two. I just can't see where he is going to be effective.

You all are back home and getting more news than I can gather over the internet, what you are all hearing? Can he get it done?

heck no the freshman from last year is the best QB. being a big state fan, i was at the game last year and he beat the whole team with his ground control. that boy could run a football and would take the hit. i cant remember his name but he is one heck of a ball player and would love to watch him on tv when i am not at a ball game. but ole spurlock is not a good QB but would make a great reciever.

Ethan Flatt's been dropped to 3rd string after starting most of last season. Lane is #2, right behind Spurmanninglock whom I'm sure will be benched by halftime in the mempho game.

It seems that Spurlock is holding onto the 1st string job, but don't believe O is giving it to him by any means!!!! His practices are tough and all about hard work and competition. I can tell you Robert Lane had a heck of a good practice yesterday in scrimmage work. He is right with Spurlock, and it was said he was pretty much dead even with Spurlock when he got hurt in the spring. SO, don't assume anything just yet, its a long 26 days till kick off in Memphis....

NOW, to agree with others assumptions, I too believe even if Spurlock holds onto the job for the opener he won't make it long, I just don't think he's got it come gametime. Practice player. We'll see...

I beleive this is the first time you and I have ever agreed on something.

I am not trying to say that Spurlock is the worst QB in the world, but with Lane and Flatt behind him that are both taller to better see over the line and down field, plus they are both Sophmores and will be the future of the team. If Spurlock had lasted all year last year and done a good job, I would definately want to stay with him since he has proven himself. When it comes down to two guys neck and neck and what is in the future, I would have to go with Lane or Flatt because they are what will be there next year.

Even NCAA 2006 knows more than Zero, got Flatt #1, Lane #2 and Spurlock #3.........had to up Spurlock's ratings for him to move up to #1.

That's exactly how last season ended, when the development of the game was going on....what's else would you expect???

Wait, why did I even expect you to think on your own...

Spurlock's height will not be an issue in Orgeron's offense. His speed will be. Lane is good, but I'm glad Willis knocked some sense in him last spring. Quarterbacks are supposed throw the ball, if they run over people, that's an added bonus. Lane, like both Spurlock and Flatt, needs to work on where the ball goes when he lets go of it. Till he gets that fixed, I don't give damn how he runs.

A different system is being put into place. Spurlock will never be a drop back quarterback anywhere. However if he is the best in the style offense O is running then he should be the starter. With all that said I hope like HEL he is not in there come September 5.

Wrong, when the game was being developed Spur was #1, followed by Lane then Flatt. But EA knows who the better qb's are so they set it up that way.

You know my cousin, who is a LSU fan, signed my wedding registry GTHOM...amazes me how obsessed with Ole Miss LSU and State fans are! They worry more about Ole Miss than their own team.
