MSU signee Goodridge cleared: It took more time than anyone anticipated, but Vernon Goodridge was finally cleared by the NCAA Clearinghouse on Wednesday afternoon, according to Mississippi State coordinator of compliance Bracky Brett.
The fifth member of the MSU basketball team's signing class enrolled in school Wednesday after spending the last week in Starkville waiting. He is eligible for the 2005-06 season.
The 6-foot-9, 215-pounder from Philadelphia (Pa.) Lutheran Academy is considered one of the top centers in the country. He averaged 11.5 points and 10.5 rebounds. Goodridge joins Reginald and Richard Delk, Jamont Gordon and Bernard Rimmer as this year's freshmen. That leaves Murrah's Jeremy Wise as the only signee still awaiting clearance.
