In the rain cooled pleasant evening in Fayetteville, many got to see the Piggies for the first time. Practice has been closed and rumors of an incredible backfield could not be proved, but the coachs always smiled when the issue of the backfield came up. With the wisdom of never opening with a worthy opponent, the piggies worked on oiling the rust on the wheel of a long offseason made longer by no postseason play. The rumors appear true, led by stunning sophmore stud Peyton Hillis, and a duo of true freshmen 5 stars named Felix Jones and Darren Mcfadden, followed with bruising workhorse D'Arius Howard. Each have a talent that the other doesn't have, they seem to compliment each other very well. With a seasoned, experienced O'line that escaped two a days without serious injury that some have rated in the top ten in the nation. Theres room for a green QB to develope into a good distributor of the pigskin. The piggies have several competent recievers led by star Marcus Monk.

The piggies were blessed with an incredible talent named Jones but too many times the team depended on him to make the big play to win the games, During the same time, the piggies defense regressed by poor tackling and giving up big plays, not any more, new D-CO. Reggie Herring has these boys tackling and pursuing and laying licks better and they only will get better. They difference was obvious from last years squad

The Piggies have a weakness, the kicking games, this seems to be a perrinial problem under Nutts tenure and needs to be addressed.

The 49 to 17 victory was a good start, Next week they work on getting it to flow better against Vandy, Its quite obvious that the piggies plan to do when they meet USC in two weeks, ball control with a great running gamein the making.

I stand by my 7-4 projection, and I stand behind that could get better if a competent QB emerges. just a good distributor that makes smart decisions. It seems that theres two that want to try.
