I think that we have a QB issue that has to be ironed out too....hopefully Spurlock will get the long pass dialed in quickly. Some were just flat thrown poorly too. But hey....we are having a winning season so far I recon

I thought the tackling got better as the game went on. We came out early just wanting to knock the pi$$ outta folks and forgot that they were football players too. Wrap up. DeAngelo, that shifty little bastardo, was held under 100 yards. That has to stand for something.

I thought Spurlock looked good, not great. Not as good as he can be. He missed some passes, but quarterbacks throw incompletions sometimes. It happens. He was the victim of some dropped balls and some ridiculously conservative play-calling inside the Memphis 30. It was good to see him take off and run and at the same time, I thought his poise in the pocket was a TREMENDOUS improvement. That will get better as he gets more game experience. Also, lots of quarterbacks would have dropped the rock on those blindside sacks where Spurlock got CREAMED.

Hopefully, the offensive line will start to gel having gotten through one "in the trenches" together. Play from the O-line will have to improve dramatically for the Reb offense to be competitive in SEC play. Maybe the mobility of the quarterbacks will help the line get better. Or at least look like they're getting better.

Special teams...oh Lord, special teams. I don't think I've ever seen a more pathetic FG attempt. Punts were always scary. Only bright spot was kickoffs. Would like to see them dropped in a corner of the end zone instead of the exact middle of the field. My suggestion: open tryouts for someone that can find the middle of the uprights. Gotta be an international student somewhere on campus that knows more about kicking a ball and making it go where he wants it to go.

Everybody on Nichols about the LSU game would give anything for a kicker. I don't think I have ever seen a worse field goal attempt as that 40 yarder. That was pitiful
