From all the smack talk going on by the MSU fans on the board, and the general giddiness being displayed by many MSU fans, you would think that the Bullpups hammered the UGA Bulldogs. Has losing at MSU become so chronic and expected that strained "moral victories" are celebrated? Has losing lost its sting? Oh my.

It does very much seem this way!
On the way home from Oxford I listened to the State postgame show and to listen to it, I swear you'd have thought State won or BARELY lost on the road to USC or something, when in fact they got handled.....
I guess when State plays hard it's a victory within itself!

Coach Croom sounded pretty happy and content last night on the call-in show, cracking jokes and having a big ol time with Jack Crystal. He WAS pretty funny, I have to admit. But, at the same time, after a loss, it sounded like someone who has learned to accept moral victories ---holding the score down to what it could have been maybe?? Not really sure what the moral of the loss was on Sat.?

yes yes yes.. we are damn glad to just be somewhat competitive.. see these last 4 years have been the worst.. when i say the worst i mean honestly the worst in our modern era of playing football... statistically this is a fact..

progress is the reason for all the crowing...
what else have we had to crow about in the football dept....

the boosters that took MSU and 15.5 are happy...so's the coach...moral victories will suffice when your opponent doesn't cover....

An Ole Miss loss overshadows a MSU loss greatly.

Yes, we are happy with the trend in Starkville. We are making progress and feeling better about our overall football program. There seems to be a reason here to be optimistic.
How about you boys in Oxfard? How are you feeling bout the trend there. What shape in the program looking forward. How is the optimism level there?
Honestly, I don't know much about UM's program. I know it may shock you, but I just don't trust GH22's opinion. I love him, but I don't trust him when it comes to being objective about UM sports...kinda equivalent to having beer googles on at closing time!
