alot of friends went to the game and said Ole Miss won the game on the field just not on the scoreboard. These ranked teams need to take the 12 step approach 1 day at a time...

Ole Miss played a good game. Bama played a SLIGHTLY better game. One thing is for sure. Both teams left everything out on the field. Hate that we didn't come out on top, especially since we had chances to win it, but I'm glad I'm able to say that I was there to watch a helluva football game.
Rebelyelp looked at me in the third or fourth quarter and said, "Now THIS is some SEC football." 'Bout damn time some of that showed up in Vaught-Hemingway this year.

Well they might have lost the game but it was one helluva game. It is still a loss and at the end of the year nobody will remember the game was that close. Everybody will remember that it was a loss though.

IK would have to say Ole Miss is better than State to this point this year. They've had the closest loss of the two.

What I saw yesterday was an ole miss team that came real close to beating the #6 team in the country. I also saw a rebel team that moves the football on a pretty good defense. And I saw our defense put a stop to a highly effective offense.
I do beleive that come November 26, 2005 the rebels will have won 4 out of the last 4 egg bowls!!!!!

i'm giving bama full credit here... they never gave up and it showed, not saying we did either. I saw a much improved Ole Miss team, especially defense, however as improved as we looked, we still blew chances to win. I agree with gator that there are no moral victories, but i do look at the rest of our schedule with a little confidence that we can close out these last 5 games with 2 or 3 more wins.
Time of Possession was 32 for Ole Miss and 27 and some odd seconds to Bama. They had 120 yards of rushing, however 80 of that came on Darby's long run and Croyles run in the 4th. Same goes for us, i think Mico had 70 yards total rushing, but alot of that came on hsi 40 yarders. Both defenses played extremely stiff against the run and well against the pass. Bama sure brought one heck of a crowd, as did we. Vaught Hemingway was LOUD. In the red zone, bama was 1-2 and we were 1-3, costly on our part. Great game to be a part of regardless of the outcome, wish we would have won; the only thing i regret about it is that we had opportunities to win and didn't.

from a standpoint of not being a fan of either team, but hoping with all hope that UM would beat bama it was a great game. That game will hopefully get ole miss on the right track and then maybe show some weakenss wtih alabama so they don't go all the way. Had to be a great game to be at.

Ole Miss played a great game. Their defense looked strong. That should give them some confidence going into the second half of the season. Hopefully, Bama will get their act together. I said last week we always seem to play sluggish after an off week. I'm just glad we got the win.
Jeff, you should probably be worrying about the Aubs coming to town instead of Alabamas fate. Them tigers are looking tough. They won't be running a gimic offense and tackling like a Mountain West team.

I watched most of the game and thought the rebs played well. BUT gosh durn, how can you be on the 5 yard line and have back to back delay of game penalties? I think that was the turning point of the game. Without those penalties, I think Ole Piss would have scored a TD.

B/C no matter how much better he is playing than last year, Michael Spurlock is really not meant to be a QB...not to say he's not our most viable option at this time, but that still doesn't make him a SEC quarterback...he is an athlete, but Ole Miss needs a true quarterback...and needs to be coached and prepared properly!

first of all it was a great game and the rebs had me worried, but you could tell that bama was the better team, they out gained ole miss by a 100 yards and ole miss never really put together any sustained drives like bama did, but the ole miss defense did a heck of a job stoping bama on 4th down, on a big play early in the game, bot teams had missed field goals and blown chances to score, i will say that bama did not deserve to win. Spurlock did look better but is still not an sec quaterback, i was very disapointed with the play calling by bama's defense they neverr tried to put pressure on spurlock they rushed 3 men pretty much the whole game, letting spurlock sit back all day, if they do that against a better QB the out come would be much different.
