I'll tell you what I'm tired of.....MSU football. It is very apparent that the University that I love has hired the WRONG man to turn the program around
Yes, I'm tired...very tired

You think your tired!!! Hell we've got the same problem we've had for the last 10 years!!!!!!! It wasn't Sherrill's staff, and it wasn't Sherrill himself. I agreed and at least hoped Croom might could make a difference, but untill we get rid of the problem we're not gonna ever have a damn thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The only good thing about the game was I was able to polish off my 5th of Old Charter before the final horn blew.

We could not beat South Panola. Take Country Boy Jerious out of the line up and we wouldn't have scored. Stick a fork in the Bulldogs, we are done! I guess the Murray State game was the game that made our season. Pass the bottle, Bigwater.

Try to look at the bright side of things ---at least football will not interfere with deer and duck hunting season this year for the Rebs and the Dogs.
It was a beautiful day in Oxford today for tailgating and football ---perfect weather ---nice and cool ---sunshine ---- the Bar was open ---the grills were fired up ----the smell of victory and bourbon was in the air ----the fans were fired up to the extent one can be when playing UK ---- even got my first live glimpse of the Whiskey Alley gang today on the team walk through the Grove ---- some of my family and good friends were there ----the food and fellowship were great ----spirits were high -----and then the game started.....

....oh my ....THAT was U G L Y ....the only positive thing I can say about the entire game is that we got the W ....Kentucky may be the worst team I have seen this season ....and the Rebs' ineptness on offense in the red zone and continued bad field goal kicking kept the toothless Cats in the game until the game mercifully ended ....then it was back to the tailgating, relaxing, drinking, smoking a good cigar, and wondering when the Rebs will ever turn the corner toward a winning program again.
Unlike some Reb fans, I received no enjoyment out of learning about the fate of the Bulldogs. I usually pull for all the other Mississippi teams when they are not playing Ole Miss. I had thought going into this weekend, that it would be a good rare opportunity of late, for all the Big 3 to pull out a win on the same weekend. USM beat UAB Friday night. The Rebs almost blew it. And the Dogs apparently found a way to lose against Houston despite some very impressive rushing yardage from Norwood (I heard part of the somber post-game show). It was not to be.
The future of this season for both the Rebs and Dogs looks pretty dark and gloomy at this point as far as wins are concerned. But, I am still going to tailgate and enjoy myself before the last two home games against the Hogs and LSU. Then, it will be time to focus on the hunting season, with no football interuptions. Bring on the seasons.

Ruh roh. Po Monkey and I finally agree on something. This truely is Old Testament type stuff.
I'll tell ya a little story. Several years ago, Ole Miss beat Georgia in the semi-finals of the NCAA tennis tournamet in Athens. I think it was UCLA that they ended up losing to in the finals, but during the match, nobody there was cheering any harder for the Rebels than Andy Jackson (MSU's coach). When you consider that Andy hates Billy Chadwick (Ole Miss's coach), and ain't too fond of Ole Miss either, that says a lot about pride in your state.

I pull for the Rebs unless they are against my Bulldogs. I agree it ain't much fun watching the Dogs play this year. But, I would like to know how you expect anyone to take the team that was left and then run off the dregs (even if they were good athletes, it was the right thing to do), and expect them the team to do much. I've said all along that the first two seasons, we should be really glad if we win three games, given the overall state of the program. This is MS State, not Southern Cal. Blue chippers are not running all over themselves to go there.
It will take two more years to be at 50/50 in the SEC.
Bottom line...you can't make chicken salad out of chicken crap. We have to get better meat before the salad is any good at all.
Be patient and be realistic in your expectations! I am convinced Coach Croom is the best hope we have.

OK, you're 1st and goal on the one foot line, What play do you run?????
I would hope a straight dive, off tackle, or at least a quarterback sneak.
What does the Off. coordinator call?????
A frickin counter play for a 4 yard loss!!!
Give me a Break!

I'm with Boogerden Boy on this one ----I HATE any type of running play close to the goal line where the handoff is deep in the backfield, or the handoff is delayed. For every one time such a play works, it doesn't work 10 times, and just gives the defense an opportunity for a TFL. Give me a quick hitter near the line of scrimmage (QB sneak, dive, off-tackle), or a play fake and throw to the tight end, or a roll out and throw to the WR or QB run, but no counters, draws, etc., and no sacks (throw the ball away). I see this same type of play run by our Rebs from time to time, and I just cringe every time.

the episode right before half was a clinic in coaching 101.. too sit there and let the clock tick down while you have the enemy pinned deep in your territory and you still have your timeouts is ridicilous...
futher the way their punter was striking the ball it was a given that we could get the ball at midfield with close to a minute left before half.. you know an excellent chance to at least kick a field goal and try and take the lead and some momentum into the 2nd half..
but no.. we sit there and let the stikning game click down ... finallly we end up at with the ball at mid-field with approx 15 sec/ left..
what play do we call??? a damn long pass into the end zone... everbody knows you try the higher percentage pass and get in field goal range.. stupid, stupid, stupid..
clock managment.. clock management... arrrgghhh!!!! thats on the coach croom... same thing happend against ark last year...
