Alabama-Florida State
TUSCALOOSA — Alabama and Florida State will play in 2007 at a neutral site, creating a high-profile nonconference matchup for both teams.
The game will be played Sept. 29 in Jacksonville, Fla.
"We expect this game to produce a great deal of excitement within our respective fan bases and on a national level as well," Alabama athletic director Mal Moore said Tuesday.
The one-time meeting will be played at 82,000-seat Alltel Stadium, home of the Gator Bowl. It will be televised by either CBS or ESPN.
The teams haven't met since 1974, with Alabama winning 8-7. Alabama has a 2-0-1 edge in the series.
