WHAT WOULD YOU DO?
Here's the situation. You go to curch sunday morning and as you walk through the side doors one of the children you coach is coming out of the basement and says coach come here quick. Well while wondering what a seven year old little girl is doing in the basement you go to investigate.
You arrive in the basement to find three more kids looking at an extreamly large owl perched on the floor and looking at the children like go away kids you bother me.
Well you remove the children only to have every other fool decides to come take a look like they've never seen one before and all asking what do we do? They little girl say's coach what you gonna do? You tell her to go get another coach and he'll catch it for you. ( this is just a joke as you know you can't do anything at the moment but get every one to leave it alone) Well she get's your partner in coaching and you go to sunday school not knowing he is in there.
Now he is an outdoorsman also and perfectly capable of handeling things, but he should be in class with you. He comes in about half way through class and says he moved the bird to the court yard and the bird seems sick then leaves the class. Well class is going slow so you and one of your doctor friends ( who has shot many realtree videos) say we need to go check on coach and see if he needs rescueing.
Yall find the bird in the court yard on the ground next to the swings and it will not attempt to fly. The three of you call every vet, game warden and anyone else you can think of to get no reply(it's Sunday morning) and relize the kids will be out there soon to play on the play ground.
So what do you do? And don't forget the parishner that wants to take it home while telling you that when you moved the bird it was a federal offense. Oh, I'm sorry, that was haddled when he was told so if you take it home then you will be comitting the ofense. Had to put that tid bit in there.
Well what you gonna do.
The conclusion to come.

None of the above.
Put him in a kennel and call the MDWFP. They get you in touch with a rehab profesional that then takes the bird off your hands.

Looking for 2 duck calls from Dominic Serio of Greenwood (ones for Novacaine)

I can get you the name of the area's owl rehabilitator. She spoke at the elementary school my wife teaches at earlier this week. I think the cat and a video camera. Could get some nice cash for the video.

The preacher was missing in action, but that was a good idea. I shall let this ride into the night for the day workers and then give you the conclusion.

That option was given at the curch, but some of the pairishners wouldn't have stood for it. I must say that big ole joker would have looked good stuffed on a branch hanging in my office. I really liked the way he could spin his head 360 degrees. But shooting was not an option. Please try again. And who is releasing this bird on the children. have a heart man. Children don't taste good.

the bird isn't going to attack anything if it cannot fly. You should not allow the children to play with it, because it is sick. Could have eatn' a rat down there with poison in it, or have any other number of illnesses. Playing by your rules you call the authorities, wait, keep the kids off the play ground, and the let the oppossum do your dirty work at night.
