What is a rough estimate of what it cost to have a well drilled and an average diesel water pump put on? Large enough to flood land but not for irrigation purposes.

I think you are going to have to know several variables specific to the place you are talking about to get an acurate price. That being said, a friend told me they spent 15,000 before the motor, but I don't know the details. If someone does not post up in a day or two I'll try to get some specifics from him.

16" well, 3000 gals. minute. 60 hp electric motor ( 3 phase)...total cost $14,800. If you go with diesel motor ( actually called a power unit), the well and pump should run about $12,000. Then, you have to buy the power unit which is $10,000. or more. You can rent a power unit for $850. year rather than buy one. Most wells in the Delta only have to drill 75 to 100 feet down unless you are trying to get drinking water.

Thanks for the info. That is alot more $$$ than I thought. We have spent alot of time and money on two new duck holes and now all we need is water.
