Soak the barrel in diesel fuel for a couple days.

GUN HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Diesel tip sounds good, I've never tried it. But I had to put my barrel in a vice, take the choke wrench and tap it with a hammer...was a booger.

Sounds silly, but get some burnt motor oil and put in a old boiler and heat the oil. Just enough to make the oil hot to the touch. All you need is about 3" of oil in the boiler. Set the barrel in for about 5 minutes then wipe the oil off the twist like hell.

Twist counter clock wise!!!!

You might try a product called break free or some liquid wrench. It will penetrate the threads and should come loose. Wait a couple of days and let it work its way up the threads and should come right out.If its bad rusted be careful and try not to break the choke off in the barrel...................................... Winchesters never have this sort of problem

hehehehe just kidding...... Good Luck!!!!

would not try break free,
I would use nothing that displaces rust, Blueing is nothing more than rapid oxidation and rust removers will destroy the finish.

The heated oil is the best, But you should bring the Oil to a boil with the barrel muzzle submerged in the oil as it heats. The heat will exspand the metal allowing the oil to enter the threads. Allow it to cool in the oil till the oil is cold again, Clean with mineral sprits to remove the oil and try again to remove the choke. If it doesn't come out repeat the process until it does. It has taken me as many as five times on some of the earlier winchester guns. Do not force the choke any harder than you can turn with one hand. hammers and air wrenches are a no no. Be patient and it will come free.
If all else fails you can email me and I will remove for you.

I had a buddy with same problem with his Beretta. He took it to gunsmith before turkey season. I think it cost him a grand total of $15.00 to remove the choke.

Good call on the breakfree, Dan. Sounds like a winner on either the boiled oil. yep that should make the barrel expand and the tube come out. I know your probly a real good fella and very knowlegeble but how the heck are you gonna break it free with a email .....hehehehehehe!!!!!! hey I had too ask. I also like the gunsmith idea too 15.00 bucks sound cheap enough to me.
