my son is 10 and wants to go see some snow. i was wondering if arkansas mountains has any snow? need to know

that stuff in ark? there just hills. the snow caps are above the tree line. take him out west to see the grand tetons, and yellowstone national. amazing place, my parents took me and my brother on a four week camping trip one summer. got some great bear stories for ya too. but i have images and smells that are as vivid today as years ago.
Ark, take him on a two day canoe trip down the buffalo from ponka to pruitt. you can hike in to hemmed in hollow ? all the way down the river you will see rock bluffs that make you dizzy when you look up from the bottom, and you can catch fish in every pocket eddy down the river.

I second that suggestion!
My scout troop used to float the buffalo river a couple times a year. It is beautiful and very good fishing, too.

drive up to gatlinburg, bout a 8-10 hour drive theres is snow till march and april up on the mountian, snows daily up there.

Don't have to go as far west at the Tetons or Yellowstone. The Rockies in CO are just as good if not better. They are MUCH better than the Smokies in TN too. The smokies don't even have tree lines ( a tree line is where a mountain is high enough to where at a certain point there's not enough oxygen in the air to sustain plant life) Thus you see the rock outcroppings and snow caps on the Rockies, instead of seeing green rolling hills at the Smokies.
At times there are snow in AR, but that's mostly late in the winter or on a strong cold front. AR doesn't get that much accumulation though, so it's a good chance there won't be any snow standing on the ground.
When I was in high school we'd family vacation to CO every year. We would go around July and 95% of the time we'd get snowed on. 2 or 3 times were even got caught with shorts and had to buy cold weather clothes while we were out there.
