I have an 11 month old black female. She has a great looking muscular body and a shiny coat. I am not going to breed her because I can't get papers on her. I want to get her spayed but some people tell me that they get fat when you do that. Other people tell me that they don't. Give me some examples to go by.

Bullchit. If the dog gets fat after you spay her it is your fault and not hers. It is true that it is easier for the dog to gain weight but that is easily controlled by you the responsible owner.

The ones I notice that gained weight were older dogs that had litters before spayed. Don't know if that had anything to do with it. Seen dogs spayed early you wouldn't know they were.

My friend has both his females spayed and they are as fit and toned as my two females who were not. They won't get fat if you feed them right and help them to get plenty of excercise.
