New Waders
Am about to purchase a new set of waders. I have been using 5mm neoprene that lasted 5 years. Are the new fancy ones worth the extra money? Thanks

If you want neoprenes, I would suggest that you look at some that have a stretch cordura or similar coating over the neoprene. I have had a pair of Rocky's for several years, and have been pleased.

Hey I was going to let yall know,I got a friend that was a rep for Rocky and Then went to work for a company called Itasca. They got a wader out 5mm thats just like the Lacrosse for 140.00 about half of what Lacrosse cost. Cant say how good they are but I got a pair for the price I couldnt turn them down. Thought yall would like to know and might like to try'em. The boots are 1000 grams.

i have both the 3 mm neoprene and the 5's from lacrosse. While hunting last geese last year, i punctured the 3's but i repaired them with no problem. The type of wader you buy should be dictated by the terrain you will be hunting. If you are hunting open water and son't need the extra insulation the 3's are the way to go, however if oyu hunt in flooded timber, or from the shore, or beaver damns the 5 brush tuff are the way to go. Just a note, even on cold mornings, if you have to walk any distance int he 5's you can have sweat running down your back. However for just one pair of wader,I like the brusk tuff by lacrosse.
I saw the waders by itscha during the wildlife show this month, they don't look bad. Before i bought a pair, I would check to see the warranty on them. Lacrosse offers two years fromthe date of purchase.
