I wan't to hear everyones take on folks shooting whitetails off of there back deck or porch. I think it's a little low myself, unless you built a back porch off of your treestand or something.

If a whitetail comes within range of my back porch it deserves to get shot. (now granted I live in an established subdivison) Heck, I have no problem with folks shootin em off the deck myself personally...just don't feed em all year long only to have easy pickins come Oct 1.

I see no problem with it, if the deer herd is healthy enough for them to walk up to your backyard perhaps it needs thinning out.

I deer hunt ONLY for the meat, and i don't have a problem with it, as i shoot deer off my mom's back porch. If i was in it for the sport it would be different, it would certainly dilute the experience somewhat.

I don't deer hunt but people shoot them in my back yard all the time. I live in an established neighborhood.

I will tell you right now I am low on deer meat. If one come in my backyard which it will. I WILL shoot at it. I missed one last year. Don't need to do that again.

BTW I will not even give the deer the luxury of me stepping on the back porch. It will be shot from my dining room window.

A friend of mine has killed two while resting on his dining room table. There is a crossing about three hundred yard from his house, and he has walked by the kitchen window several times and seen deer moving across the field. Both bucks are now on his wall. I haven't shot one off the deck before, but I did wake my mom up one morning when I turn Mr. Thundermaker loose by her bedroom window. It was just a doe, but she was real tender.

I'd shoot one off the cammode if it would not get poop all over the floor

I wish I had a porch that I could see deer off of.. If I could get my reaction times a little better I could at least get one with my truck when I am on my way to camp (where I usually don't see anything there)

I will shoot one if I needed the meat. I can sit on my front porch and watch them, I can sit on my carport and watch them, at whre my back deck is going and watch them if I have bushhogged, and across the road in the hay field.

I've seen a few over in the lot by the landing. My son and I have found 2 dead by the water that looked like they had been shot. I think you could probably get a shot on one but you better hurry up before they clear all that land up

I saw they cut some lanes thru there. I don't live in that neighborhood any more (DUCKBUM found out where I lived so I had to move), but drove by the other day. At least they made it easier to get thru to the rez now. Got a couple of buddies that still live out there and we make 1 or 2 trips to hunt ducks out there..
