Any of you boys know much about these? I have looked at them and done a little research, but don't know anyone who has one. They seem to have a lot of torque(spelling??), but not as much on the top end. That would be great for me as it would only be used for hunting and working. How do they perform in water? What about the life span of these things?

law duck, i have had two, currently have a 500 manual, had a 400 manual that i wish i still had. the only reason i got rid of it was it had no indicator on it to show what gear it was in and wife didn't like that. tough machines motor is susuki, 650 twin is a kawasaki motor and the 650 H1 is built by arctic cat. i have only had manual trans. on mine and you can't stop them, have mine in water waist deep regularly her in bama and have no problems in the delta. only wish the air intake was like the old one but its not, air intake is under the front rack but has not been a problem. i just go through my deep holes slow enough for the front tires to float the front end with no problems to date. if this is a problem you can always snorkel it, pretty easy job and you can get tons of help from artic chat forum. good luck!

Once cwinkler gets back from Texas and his emergency, you need to ask him. He did lots of research on Artic Cats.

i have seen a few with snorkels on them and they seem to be ok in the water. They put them in Enid Lake every weekend. Dont see many Artic Cats around though.

Check out previous threads. Those of us who have them like them. I like pulling out Hondas. Mine is a 2000 500 auto and lives in water Nov-Jan. But I had to modify the belt housing intake. It is a belt driven auto. That works good now. When the water is really up, my main competition is from ARGO's, but they are tooooo slow.

Heads up though, I would get another one if I had a good AC service shop in my area, as it is, I will look at something else. My advice - Do not do business with Jackson Motor Sports. The service is the absolute worst that I have experienced with any product in my entire life, and I am 40 years old.

Meeka - The guy who owns that place lives next door to me. He has a roblem keeping good help sometimes. I will give him a hard time when I see him. Truth be told I experienced the same problem with a mower I bought. If you will call the ATV repair shop on El Dorado Rd in Pearl they can help out. Main mechanic was certified on Artic Cats by Jackson Motorsports and they have always done a good job on my mower and 4 wheelers. Fast and reasonable price

CWinkler's dad is going through some things (keep him in your prayers) and Cwinkler is trying to get him to MS. It is not as easy as that sounds. Sounded like he would be back this week last I heard.

Love mine. Best price/features out there.. I got the 400 Manual.. Wished I would have gotten the 500. Stay away from the ones with the Arctic Cat Engine and the Kawasaki engine I think those are the 650 and bigger.. They are still working out the bugs in those engines..

I got it because not to many ATV comes with an available Manuall tranny any more and I just didn't want to have to deal with the auto's belt issues...

I have been seeing more and more of them in the field. They are definitly worth a look..
