I have heard some good things about Matthews brake and was wondering if anyone could point me to someone that would be willing to take someone new to the area hunting. No, I do not have time to scout myself, due to my type of work. Just looking for a name to contact that may be able to help me. You may PM me with any help. Thanks in advance.

Secondly, get ready for an onslaught, because I have a feeling it's coming.

Welcome aboard and like GH22 said,"Get Ready"
Rule No. 125a line 3 column 8 reads .....well you will figure it out prob. by lunch Friday.
I do know that one of my customers used to own some land in that area and he claimed that it was awesome. But keep in mind that was 10-15 years ago. Lots have changed in that amount of time.
Good luck!!!

You guys ever notice that when someone like this gets on here evryone talks about how bad he is gonna get lashed....and they never do. Anyways, just a thought. Well duckskoal

there are quite a few ducks there. ALOT actually it's a great place to hunt. I got some buddies that hunt there alot. What vehicle do you drive? I'll tell them to be lookin out for ya, maybe they can take you to some of their holes but seriously don't go hunt em all the time without em. I'm not trashy and neither are they but their huntin truck is an old el camino. They gotta great dog so et you aint gotta move a bit after you shoot. Lemme know some information and maybe I can get ya hooked up. Good huntin partna'.

I went by there this evening on my way home from Batesville. The water is FULL of lilly pads as far as I could see from the landing. Looks like the water is down about a foot and a half as the pads were sticking up that high out of the water. It may be ok later in the season but it's low now...saw just a few ducks mostly woodies. Was there right before dark.

make sure you dont drive or have anything DU. There is a crew called the El Camino crew and the hate Out of Staters. THey will vandalize your car and turn their pit bull/lab on you. I heard it died over the summer and they have got a new one in training but I am not sure. Good luck.

The best place to hunt is a Big Pond on the side of I-55 I hate to give Bigwater's spot up but it is really producing some birds this year.

All the bootlip mallards and mud ducks a man can kill. Why else would folks drive through the night to hunt.
Don't take offese to all these guys.//./. tell ya what, I'm gonna be near there in the am checking the water on my lease next door, I'll meet ya at the entrance and give ya a map so you can get on the birds this saturday morn.
