Starting to see scrapes up here, but haven't been in the woods enough to see if the bucks are chasing.

This morning my buddy who works for a state agency (rides in a truck and burns state gas) watched an 18"+ deer chase a doe for over 20 minutes in a wheatfield about 600 yds from the hwy. After laying down a while (the deer) (he works for the state, he still ain't moved) they got up and the buck mounted the doe. She had three other backs making moves to her, but the big boy kept em back

Sounds like you need an ice pack to calm those feelings down.

I have had my camera on a scrape in Issaquena Co. since opening weekend of gun season. The 9 point I killed was making a scrape last Wed. evening.
Two friends of mine watched a 140" buck chase a doe last night in upper Claiborne County.
Around here I would say the pre rut is on!
