Duck Harvest % Breakdown

While the season has been OK to above average for before Christmas hunting as far as numbers are concerned (I mainly hunt with my nine year old and a buddy or two of his), our percentage of mallards in the bag are way down. Is it just that they are not around, has my place just become Gadwall U, or is the food in these brakes different from last season? What kind of percentages are yall getting? What type habitat are you hunting? Here are our numbers and % to date:

private land / Delta
Hunting Cypress / Tupelo Gum Brakes
6 hunts
AVG. 3-4 people per hunt
78 total ducks harvested
Mallards harvested = 10
Wigeon harvested = 14
Wood Ducks = 4
Gadwalls = 50

I don't have the raw numbers up here with me, but I can tell you we are shooting 85% gads, 10% widgeon, and 5% mallards. I am just not seeing many mallards this year like we did by this time last year. I will NOT turn my nose up at a greyduck, though!

since teal season we've kilt 200 ducks on the button..

too many hunts to count already..

these are my estimates..

we had a good early teal season.. took right at 50 bwt.. taken another 5-10 g.w.t since the start of the big duck season.

prolly another 60 or so bootlips.. its been a long strange trip..

blubills. around 50 or so...

thats approx 175-180 teal, shovs and scaulp..

the other 20 or so ducks have been greys, woodies and maybe 5 or 6 mallards..

the donkey is in full effect.. keep on hunting boys.. and merry x-mas to all..

Hey, Guys - indulge me on this one. Lets factor in our hunting conditions...

Lets do it like this: on first line of your post indicate majority of ducks killed on "public" or "private land". On the the second line of your post indicate "delta" or "non-delta" for geographic location.

Here I go:

all public land
non delta

9 hunts: 20 ducks

13 woodducks
4 mallards
1 widgeon
2 ringnecks

If you already posted, please edit and add this information. I want to see how this really breaks down. :D
