Okay, after reading the write-up in the Clairion Ledger about proposed season frameworks; what would y'all like to see this year?
I say no split, just run it straight through, although I don't think the November days will be very productive.

I'm with you Wingman, straight thru, start to finish. It cuts down on confusion and as far as the guys comments in the paper about being able to spend time with family during the holidays if you have a split, well, I don't buy it. Me personally, I will be with my family xmas morning split or no split. It's not the responsibility of MDWFP to set up a hunting season so guys will stay at home and not leave their family. My vote, straight thru. 8)

I did not see the frame work. Start the 27th and close Christmas Day then run on to the 26th. That way I want miss a morning hunt. I will not hunt Christmas morning if the season is open.

Nothing in the Bible against hunting on Christmas morning :D In fact, being a single man, Santa Clause and I sometimes go hunt together and I find Christmas morning one of the most peaceful times to hunt. Just another reason to thank God for what he's given us. But I agree, if you don't want to hunt, then don't.

I don't mind a small split...We have a lot of gads early in the season and I hope we have a lot of mallards anytime...I don't mind it being closed at Christmas but like some I wouldn't hunt even if it was. I'm tired of reading about it and watching it on TV, I'm ready to get out there. :D

The reason I want hunt Christmas morning is because I might miss my 3 and 7 year old wake up and see what Santa Claus has brought them. Maybe in a couple of years they will want to go to the blind with me. They will be on their own Christmas afternoon. I'll be in the blind.

run it straight through, give me a whole bunch of coooooold weather, just the right amount of water, and a touch of a wet, smelly first year lab's nose eager for the next retrieve and i'll be happy :D

You have to have 3 days in november, so 23, 24, and 30. That will give you the usual, for miss. at least, weekend, then close during the week and reopen on a sat and run straight through. and for everyone worried about holidays, that gives you thanksgiving off.

please do not close any dec or jan days and force into more nov days.

Also, drop it to one hen and ban robos, so ark doesn't make us look too bad, otherwise we lose credibility in future framework debates. We don't shoot nearly the mallards that ark does, so 4 vs 3 won't make much difference for us, so might as well leave it a 4 greenheads. the robo ban would be like minn., so that should at least give us some credibility with north and south flyway states

JAN 1-FEB 30 WOULD BE JUST FINE WITH ME, BUT I KNOW THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN. I WOULD JUST AS SOON IT BE STRAIGHT THROUGH, CLOSED ON CHRISTMAS DAY ONLY.

And what do y'all think about Arkansas choosing a 5 duck limit with only 3 mallards? I think it would be good for Mississippi to do that as well; may give us some leverage later on. But then you can't stockpile ducks either.

Limit of 5 is okay with me. I don't care if the limit was 2 just give me the days. 3 mallards are just fine, we get alot of teal, widgeon, and gadwalls

I'm for the split and extra weekend. As it is I'll get 35-40 days including weekends and holidays, more weekends is more days.

What I really want has nothing to do with dates - give me sub zero temps and several feet of snow from canada to Memphis beginning about Thanksgiving day. I want to see ducks eclipse the sky this season.

I just want the days also (60). I'm with Double_R, more weekends is more days that I don't have to take vacation on and can roll them to next year. I will be OK with any # of birds that they give us and would also be totally OK with "NO" hen mallards. Good luck to all!
