MAHANNAH DUCKS!!!

Postby slewfootedhoopajew » Thu Jan 04, 2007 9:54 am

Awesome hunts this weekend...we killed 11 limits of birds both Saturday and Sunday..

3 bands (2 woodies and 1 teal) and 2 pintails

:D :D :D :D

We are going back this weekend...

From all the negative talk on this board about that place, yall must be trying to scare the people off...

Postby slewfootedhoopajew » Thu Jan 04, 2007 10:03 am

We were about the only group there (that I saw) but 11 people is a pretty big group I guess...

we cleaned up...took us about 3 hours. Got there about 615 set up and busted em...

I know better cause I know you don't have a silencer on your gun and I don't have that many fingers.

Man, y'all's guns sure do shoot quiet. I hunted adjacent property and didn't hear much. Fact is, I didn't hear much from there all week.

Slew, don't get discouraged.

Tell me where you are hunting at Mahanah and I will tell you where you need to go. I know all the hot spots at Mahannah. I just hate to see a fellow hunter and forum member get down and out.

I will even give you some coordinates if you would like...or I could take you and show you some spots.

We usually hunt out from the levee as soon as you cross that bayou...

we head back south (I think) and we have had really good success...no kidding.

But any more spots would be great...you can come with us this weekend if you want.

PM me if you want in....

i road out there yesterday afternoon and there must have been 1 million ducks on that place.....better yet, 2 million ducks....i swear, i think all the ducks in the delta are jam up on that place....i was literally driving down the main road and a drainage ditch 10 yards off the road had a drake pintail and hen....100 more yards, another drainage ditch and had, must have been, 50-60 mallards in it...mind you this is like 15-20 yards from my truck....one of them waved his wing at me and said he was glad to be there....said all the snow in the midwest had quacked him up....seriously though....slam full of birds....i sure wish i had the right equipment to hunt there, it is just too awesome not to hunt....

Don't waste yo time i just left from there . I killed all the birds left on Mahanna with my trusty .410. Did not take very long one box of shells and it was over. Even took out those damn swamp pheasants.
