Has anybody ever seen or killed a greenhead with white curls on his tail. We killed one this weekend and I was wondering if it was rare...here are some pictures.

Looks to be a huge duck? Seems like he is twice the size of the other mallet in the picture?

I bet it's a Mallard - White Farm Duck hybrid........like overweight farm duck with a cholesterol imbalance! I bet his HDL would top 300!

He is bigger than the one in the picture, but not that much bigger. It must be the angle of the picture or something. We killed three his size and five the size of the other one.

We've got a lot of 'ruins' /white duck mallard crosses on a fishing lake and their tails curl up like that. Actually that was how i was taught to distinguish male white ducks from female white ducks when i was little was by the curl on the tail. But never seen these ruins fly over about thirty or so feet and no more than about 5 to 10 feet off the water.

I've shot one as well. I don't know it is white as in old or white as in pigment abnormality.

Really old Duck. With just white on it's curly feathers I woulnd't jump to saying it's a hybrid. If it were a hybrid, it would have more than just a white curly feather. Now, it wouldn't shock me to have a little white duck in its background maybe 3 or 4 generations back.

Boy I tell ya what, People on this site are QUICK as hell to try and say they have a hybrid duck!! :?
