Big Bear, It is good to hear that Gary is doing much better. I know alot of folks from around hear are supporting him and praying for him and his family. I saw a girl selling raffle tickets for a $500 prize for him and the family the other day and it got me to thinking about yalls raffle. Dont forget to post up when yall get the gun raffle going.

Folks when they get this raffle going I encourage everyone to step up to the plate. This family needs the support right now from the community.

Stacey gave me the raffle tickets this morning. They are $5 a piece and each ticket gets you a chance at an 870 express super mag and a ruger 10/22. There will be two seperate drawings on October 5th. I think that is a great deal!! Besides that it is for a great cause. We will also be out doing a bucket brigade collecting money this saturday in the reservoir area. One group at the corner of spillway and old fannin and another at the corner of grant's ferry and lakeland. 8am till 12 noon. Gary is doing much better. He is supposed to go to methodist rehab today. He may already be over there, I haven't had a chance to check yet. They plugged his trach so that he could talk. He hasn't yet that I know of. He was standing yesterday with assistance. He has written some words on a piece of paper with pretty good hand writing. Yesterday while I was visiting, he kept pointing to the TV and then to his stomach. There was a McDonalds commercial on TV. I guess you would want some real food after tube feeds for 2.5 weeks.

For anyone that wants a raffle ticket, email me and send me some money:
Make sure and put your name address and phone number so I can put them on the tickets.

or you can email me and get my number and I will find out the name of the account opened for them. Either way I will get you a ticket.

You can make the checks out to Gary or Brandi Stavely. We will deposit them and get the tickets out. Gary is doing better every day. He was up walking yesterday with PT. He is talking some, but his throat is still sore from intubation and the trach.

Just to let ya'll know, the raffle that was scheduled for this Saturday has been moved back to next Saturday. That gives everyone another chance to buy tickets.

Peewee was the first to donate and we really appreciate that. Big Lou also came through with a donation. THanks to everyone for their thoughts, prayers and donations. Gary is doing much, much better. He is in the MMRC and is walking and talking and raising cane! He still has trouble putting certain events with people, but he has come an extremely long way in this short time.

Well the raffle went off well. We raised about $7000 on the gun raffle. Some guy from Denise's work one the shotgun. Another guy one the 22. Thanks to PeeWee and Big Lou for the donations.
