Yes I'm ready teal in the am doves in the afternnon. We planted some sunflowers for the doves in one of our fields, but the deer wont let them grow they keep eating the tops out of them. We got peas planted and some corn, but what do you do to keep the deer off of the sunflowers or other plantings specifically for doves?

Hope you fellas dont mind the input from an ole SC boy, but my dove field is kicking butt. My corn is about 7 foot tall with an average of three full ears per stalk. I put brown top in last week, and it is coming up strong. There is nothing like them dove breasts, wrapped in bacon, sizzling on the grill. If any of you fellas are gonna be around these parts come Sept., let me know, and we can put you on a bucket out in the field.

Brown-top, Sunflowers, but the sunflowers are choking out the brown-top. Oh well. The best thing to do is plant a different field of something else for the deer, plant something that will draw them moreso than the sunflowers, like soy beans. I don't know give that a try. It is working for us, there is a 30 acre bean field right beside our dove field, and the deer are always over in the beans!

I will be glad as heck to see it get here. Is it true that there will not be staggered opening dates this year? We have more of the big ring neck doves right now than we know what to do with!
