After this weekend, I am not sure which Mississippi team is the best.
My vote is USM.
It's definitely not M$U.
Ole Miss defense is AWFUL!
You boys better get it going...the meat of the schedule is comming up!

My vote goes to Ole Miss. Defense is horrible, but offense somewhat makes up for it.

USM is overrated. I don't think they're a SEC caliber team. They have been in the past, but I haven't seen it this year.
Ole Piss is pretty good, but they're not as good as they'd like to be.
State has the potential to be real good, but they make too many mistakes everywhere.
On any given Saturday, any three of the teams could win. They all have their faults. I wish they would get their stuff together and make us look like the state of Florida.
STATE is still the best.

STATE is still the best.
Mississippi will NEVER look like the state of Florida in football. In fact, M$U is on a downward spiral. Even if they replace Sherril, there isn't anyone who could do the job he has already done. Ole Miss better get it done this year, which it appears they won't. Even if Eli stays, he will be the best QB to come out of Oxford since his dad, but he will be on a mediocre team. Then after he's gone, it will be ra eturn to sub-par. (and they are hardly par right now).
How can State be the best? They are 1-2 and have been killed in both games they lost!

I would say Olive Branch HS, they are pretty strong this year.
Still gotta play South Panola and Starkville

it is going to take ole miss and state putting the local jr. college's on their schedule to salvage a decent year...... both schools are a joke...... atleast southern will play high caliber teams "not just because they are in same conference"!! look at who state and ole miss have played (non-conference) games..... year after year southern takes it up a notch playing tough teams..... hell, state can't even win their own homecoming against a nobody..... within 10 yrs state and ole miss will be the "vandy" of the conference...... teams will request them to come play at their homecoming so they can keep their alumni support by winning it......by 2010 southern will be the strongest team in the state and the SEC would be doing itself a favor by bringing southern in and kicking state out..... im a state fan believe it or not but i know a chitty team when i see it.....

Webbmaster>>> You talk about us playing weenie teams for non-conference games. What about us playing Oregon? What about BYU the last 2 years? Best I remember, you guys had your hands full with Middle Tennessee State! Talk about little nothing teams... You guys have dwindled into an "average" team. Face it. Bear is gone. I'm not saying that we're going to win a national title or even the SEC West, but I'm saying that we're not as bad as you Bama folks like to think. When is it we play ya'll? Nov. 9th? You may kill us, but you never can tell. State has potential, they just have to get it together. I garuntee they'll be tougher than those dirty birds down south of here. Our school has been known for surprising people in more sports than just one. Best I remember, we shut old "Chicken GIZZARD" down last year in basketball. Sorry we ruined your chance at an SEC title.

I would just worry about not getting embarrassed against LSU and those
Bengal Tigers first, then I would check and make sure that Troy State is off the schedule this year! See ya Nov. 9th! Roll Tide!
