I was shot...

at a field trial.
Funny story, back in grade school me and my buddies volunteered to hide ducks and help with other duties. This was my first time at a trial and wasn't really familiar with them. I was stationed behind a tree with a bucket of dead ducks. My job was to throw ducks in the air so the dog could see them fall and then hide so that I didn't distract the retriever. This went well and then I was moved to a different area where my job was to put a deceased duck in a sling shot apperatus and shot it out in a lake. On the other side of a lake was a guy that would shoot winged ducks down right after I completed my duty. Here's where the fun started, after a couple of dogs went through one of the winged birds decided to fly low right between me and Dead Eye Dick. Yes he did shoot and all of a sudden I felt like I was in a Vietnam ambush. This wasn't the normal spraying you get from a moron at an overcrowded dove hunt. Shot was wizzing by at a rapid rate. I got hit below the lip and in the stomach. The shooter was promptly scolded by the guy runnin the show. A doctor was on site and checked me out. I was fine and lived to tell this story.
I was wondering do they still use any of these techniques in trials?
