gulf fishing

Postby angelo » Mon Apr 23, 2007 8:30 pm

Does anyone know the name of the charter fishing that in Gulfport or Biloxi that fishes the islands or anything like that. I think the may use a big boat and take smaller boats with them? Planing a trip but I don't what to be stuck on a boat all day, unless its a big boat. If you know a good charter let me know.

Becuna Charters. They are an awesome outfit. The captain, A.J. DeRouen, doesn't necessarily do it for a "living", but he guides so he can fish too. They run a 65' "yatch" with 6 rooms downstairs, 2 or 3 bunks in each room. All you bring is your beer and your tackle and he does all the rest. His dad and his brother-in-law go out with him. Drink beer and catch fish all day and eat like kings at night. He took one of the skiffs and rode over to a shrimp boat one morning and got some fresh caught shrimp to cook one night. They are fun guys and it is a REAL relaxing trip. One of the best trout/redfish trips I've ever been on. We took 7 guys and it was right around $650 per person to go out for 3 or 4 days. That was his first trip out afterhe fixed his boat from Katrina, so I don't know what his fee is now but I would figure it is about the same. I think Bigwater & Don Miller have gone out with him. I would recomend them to anyone. We actually went to the marsh instead of Chandelier, because AJ said it had been over fished when we went. We caught a hell of a lot of fish. His number is 228 392-3104.
