What can I plant now that will grow tall enough for cover this fall. I have my field planted in beans but would like to plant the middles in center of field with something tall enough for cover. Not looking for any feed, just cover on about half acre. Got any ideas ? Thought about egyptian wheat but will it have time to grow that tall ?

It is pretty late but the only thing I could think of would be corn. I always leave some of my summer plot corn stalks in my big fields and I have noticed the bucks are more likely to walk out and think they are hidden.
But it is awfully late....

Plant some sudan, it is a hybrid sorgum plant, produces seed that ducks will eat also. lots of farmers plant it as a grazer for cattle. but will grow 7'-10' tall when left alone. ducks love it, andyou can hide in it!

i was planning on planting some sudan Saturday, should give me 3 months of growing time, is this enough for it to get high at all? I read an article online stating that at 60 days it would only be about 26 inches.
plant it

all i can tell you is that it will grow 0" in that bag. if the weather is right, it will grow fast. aug 15 will give you you 120 days. that will probably be enough. i would deffinatly get some and plant it.
