i have a 05 chevy colorado and it has a 6 cd changer in the dash. Now the cd player does not work anymore. I tried putting in an aftermarket cd player in and realized my onstar and dingers would no longer work.
So my question is have any of yall ever put an aftermarket cd player in a later model chevy with on star? If so what did it take? thanks for any help

You're looking at upwards of $300 worth of installation and wiring for your cd player to work with onstar. The new Chevy's are being designed to where they want them to stay at "stock" unless you're wanting to drop some major cash.

Everything in your dash runs directly through the cd player/radio. You can bypass the extra wiring, but it will shutdown everything electrical in the dash, including the onstar.
