It's the first year with their new "revolutionary slim limbs" If I were you, I'd try to find a really nice used Switchback, or Switchback XT, possibly even an LX or Legacy. I'd give those new "slim limbs" a couple years just to make sure they are all they are made out to be. Let the other folks test the waters for a couple years. Usually the first year someone comes out with something is the worst year to get it...the 2nd and 3rd years are best because they have had time to fix a lot of small unforseen problems that arise with day to day use of products.
It's better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.

testing
I agree with dutch dog about the first year is the worst time to buy something, Although, all matthews bows have a lifetime warranty. and its not like slimb limbs just came out this year, Matthews has already thought of and produced whats going to be on there bows for the next ten years.
Id buy the drenalin without any questions.

I just liked the way the switchback xt shot. Dont get me wrong, the Drenalin is a fine bow, i just think the switchback xt was better. The Dranalin had more kick IMHO. Maybe cause its lighter? I really havent studied the specs this year, I just went in the bow shop, shot all the bows and picked out my favorite two and shot them a ton until I had my mind up.
Drenalin is a Bad mofo.
Would you buy a 3 yr old computer b/c they might not have tweaked thier performance of the newer technology???
Worse case scenario the whole thing blows up when you shoot it and Mathews sends you a brand new one.
