What are the prices ya'll are seeing on a synthetic handi 444? I saw one for $269 and was wondering if they are cheaper anywhere else.

I was told to be careful with the newer .444's. The newer ones were actually chambered in the .444 caliber and not a .44 mag that had been bored out to .444 and alot of people were haveing problems with the guns not shooting very accurately.

No I meant that the original ones were produced as a .44 magnum. They then reamed/bored them out to a .444 marlin. These shot fine. The new ones that are coming off of the assembly line are being originally produced as a .444 marlin and many people are reporting that they are not shooting well at all.

I am simply stating what I have heard from the guys at various gun shops around town. It was meant as a heads up for anybody who cares. When did you buy it and was it stamped twice or once?

I personally have a long barrel.

Now my .444 has a short barrel and it groups very well at 100 yards. It was also bought as a .444.

i've got mine touching rounds at 100
2" high at 100 = 2" low at 200 yds.and about 18 at 300.
i did some extensize research on the ballistics and thay is why i settled on a 45-70.
