Who wins and why?

Being a typically pessimistic LSU fan, I have had an uneasy feeling about this game since the beginning. If the LSU from early in the season shows up, I like their chances. However, if the LSU that has been present for the majority of the season shows up, I think OSU wins easily.

LSU wins if: (1) the injuries that have plagued them have really gone away, (2) they get two or three big plays off the bench from Perrilloux, (3) they can run the ball effectively as well as slow the OSU run game, and (4) if Miles bowl success at LSU continues (thus far LSU has destroyed Miami and Notre Dame in bowl games under Miles).

OSU wins if: (1) they control the game running the ball, (2) their defense lives up to its billing, (3) they have one big special teams play, and (4) they win the turnover and penalty battles.

I think that OSU wins 28-24. This is a pivotal game for Ohio State and the Big 10. If Ohio State loses handily, like last year, the country will not respect the Big 10 for quite some time.

LSU 38
OSU 30

LSU has too many offensive options and too much speed on defense. This will be the only evenly matched BCS matchup - deep into the 4th quarter kind of game.

have to agree, LSU wins but the way the defense has been playing lately, I think it will be more of a UK or Arkansas game maybe 48-40 something like that

I think OSU will play LSU close if not win. They have had to live with the Florida loss from last year where they were embarrassed. the media has fueled that fire with comments about the SEC speed etc. Michigan and Wisconsin both were motivated to get revenge against the SEC. OSU may lose but will be well prepared.

I have not heard one commentator on TV the last 4 to 5 days pick LSU. Pretty much all of the college football talking heads are picking Ohio State.

Their reasoning...Ohio State was embarrassed last year and really are just as fast as LSU. That may be true.

I guess we will see.

If LSU plays like it did at the start of the year it wont be close. If they play like they did near the end of the year look out.

I am very conecerend also DM. I just don't have a great feeling about this game. I feel like we have absolutley no momentum going for us into this game. I think if we are healthy we have a good shot.

However I think tOSU has heard how slow they are for a year now I think they will have a big time chip on their shoulder. We are gonna have to nock it off to say the least.

LSU 17
OSU 13
For some reason I think OSU will put up more of a fight this year. I am for the SEC for sure, but OSU has a diffrent mind set this year.

I think there will be plenty of motivation and "momentum" for this game. Its the National Championship

Bullet, there should be plenty motivation I agree. But would you not also agree that LSU should have been motivated to beat both UK and Arkansas since they had just solidified the #1 ranking? However they played without motivation both times.

I will admit I am a very pessemistic fan, die hard fan that I am. I am always pessemistic so the let down is easier. However I can't wait to be in sec. 320, row 14 seats 5&6 on Monday night!
