How were they hitting today?
Saw plenty of birds flying but they weren't even thinking about coming down where I was stationed at!

Talked to a buddy of mine that hunted this morning and said the same thing. He was hunting around the sharkey county area.

Went to Howard miller and there are some serious ducks there. had about 2,000 teal land 200 yards from us. that place is hard to hunt, but it was one of the most fun experiences I have ever had. Ended up getting 14.

Hunted Ms. river oxbow Friday and saw plenty, killed quite a few. Went back Saturday, saw maybe 10 ducks all morning( including woodies) and never fired a shot. Why did all the ducks leave the area?

Fields thawed. Ducks moved to the food.

Bankermane-
Very good point. Makes more sense thanany other reason we could come up with. Still, it seems the birds would still return to the river basin to rest and preen from mid-morning till afternoon feed time.
