I type this question looking out of one eye. We were playing around with them tonight and i took as close one as you can get to the pupil. It hurts like a son of a you know what. I just took some good drugs. I will be going to the eye doctor as soon as I wake up.
Just wondering if anyone has heard of any injuries from them?

Havent heard of any, but I am not suprised. I bought one for my son and myself for Christmas. I thought this will be cool, we can set up a range inside the house. Well let me tell ya, I was about 25 feet from the target that came with the guns, and it hit said target and bounced back and hit the wall behind me. Those things carry some velocity.
I looked and mine says 275 feet per second, not to shabby.

me and some of my friends ocasionally have a "war" with them. we have the ones that shoot about 325 fps. i and everyine else have always worn at least sun glasses. they will draw blood if hit on a bare spot. so i can only imagine what would do if hit in the eye

I have one, but am too much of a poose to get shot with it much. Just no fun to hurt. Call me crazy. Even worse if you put the little balls in the freezer before shooting them.

I have heard of eye injuries with them. I know they hurt when they hit bare skin.

When we helped our current youth minister move back in august he had one of the automatic kind. Me and him rushed 2 of our deacons who were trapped in the back of the moving van. They got lit up. But never fear they retaliated. I went to go grab another box and they jumped out of a couple of boxes they had made a blind out of. Now I know what a mallard feels like when it sees the top of a blind spring open. They hammered me for a while. They sting but it aint that bad. Is a lot better than getting shot with a paintball gun.

Just be careful and be sure to counsel the kids that these "toys" do not go to school under any circumstances. Several students have gotten into serious trouble by having them in a "safe school" zone.
Also, idiot students (mostly gang wannabes) paint the orange parts so they look like a real gun to frighten other students.
Just a word from one who has to deal with all the crap when a kid makes a "mistake."
