This past Saturday I hunted quite possibly the best duck hunting hole in Mississippi. I know that is saying quite a bit, but the numbers don't lie. This is private owned land in Calhoun county(that's right Calhoun county). In a year where duck numbers are down they have killed 232. This number could be larger but they don't take very many guest, try not to hunt consecutive days, and never kill over the limit. I was amazed at the number of ducks that steadily attempted to get into this bean field. Not trying to start a debate on the best place to hunt, but thought I would let you know there are a few ducks somewhere in the state. Now if I can just get invited back.

Yea that place is like a refuge alway's has duck's and this year is the only place around here that has bird's.I haven't met the guy's that bought it but they goy a sweet deal.I think they mostly hunt weekend's but you could hunt that place 3 or 4 day's a week and not hurt it.Like I said I try to go look everyday just to see bird's and since season started I'v watched thousand's of duck's work that place,by seeing what's there you'd think this was a banner year for duck's.

It is amazing the ducks that corn will hold. If you want to see ducks come a little bit north to a town named Crowder. There you will find lots of waterfowl. On our club this year between 6 hunters and a few guests we have picked up over 500 ducks, alot of people think I am telling an untruth when I tell them the numbers. I just bring out the pictures. The next words out of their mouth are take me duck hunting. Even last year with all the water we had and a mild winter we managed 194 ducks. So, when people talk about Stuggart being the duck hunting capital of the world I think Crowder, MS being the duck killing capital of the world. Thats all I got to say about that............

Would this hole be owned and hunted by a Judge and Dr. from same county?

Talking about Crowder, I hunt just a few miles south in Sledge and until this weekend we have not had any ducks. Moreover, you are not the first person to report large numbers in Crowder this year. It is amazing what difference a few miles makes.

if you think 232 ducks constitutes a duck hole being called the best then you don't know what good duck holes are. At one of my places that I hunt we have only killed 350 to 400 ducks and that is out of one blind and we consider this to be a $hitty year. So to call aplace where they have killed 232 ducks makes you sound like an idiot. And yes stuttgart is still the duck capitol. There are clubs over there that kill over 5000 ducks in a season on a descent year. My club over there has killed 1000 birds so far andthis is one of our worst years ever to date. The best duck hole in mississippi is fighting bayou, they have killed 1700 birds so far this season.

No it is not owned by a judge and doctor. Mack did not mean to offend you, point was they have not hunted this year without a blind full of limits.

One Blind on a private lease this year 613 birds to date. Worst season in years excluding last year. Yes there are good holes out there and many are the best in the state on any given day. Over all I still feel the north central part of the state holds the largest number of birds year to year.
But numbers don't mean crap. I would kill half that many with in your face shooting over this gang shooting many do to get high numbers. Give me a 4 bird limit with up close and personal shooting anyday. Getting a limit is way down the list, And bragging about numbers is lower than that.

I'v watched this hole all year and it stay's slap full of duck's,I hunt the delta and here in the hill's and this is truely a remarkably place.I know you aint suppose to brag and I don't think he was but when you can back it up it aint bragging.I also reckon everyone know's of a best hole but to be in the hill's this is awsome. Also if these guy's hunted more than one day a week their number's would be way up there, could probly hunt it 3 day's a week no problem and still have bird's coming.

I was up this way last weekend and passed by last years "best duck hole in mississippi" and saw that it was dry as a bone. I wonder did no one stop up the pipes or did the dredging of the river turn this hole into a piece of history?
