What got me to reminiscing about this today is that my wife will call me during the day with ignant stuff. I mean ignant. I can not tell her she is being ignorant but I get by with ignant. Anyway, I got to thinking of back when you could go to duck camp for the weekend before the cell phone era. Also before the internet era. Wife could not call you w/ ignant stuff. Only downside was an emergency, but that is why you checked in once a week at a payphone. If you wanted to know if you had ducks you loaded up and went hunting. You could not sit in front of CPU and scout. My oh my how things have changed.

I can honestly say that I wished I was born 20 years earlier. Lady friend would be less of an inconveince while more ducks flew south. Can't beat it.

I HATE CELL PHONES! Only ones I have owned were given to me by work. I feel for the people in the younger generation who have never known true solitude in the outdoors.

I love cell phones. They have an off/off switch on them.

thats the one thing I like about my deer camp, there is only 2 places on the entire 8000 acers that gets cell signal

I'm grateful for my phone. My 8yo son is handicapped and has seizures. I couldn't go chasin' ducks without it.

That is the perfect reason to have one. I, on the other hand, need to learn where the power switch is. I have started hating mine more and more.

I remember going to the red shack (our deer camp0 in vaiden when i was in high schoola nd starting college. None of us had a cell phone. No contact with teh outside world unless we decided to go eat at the 35/55 truck stop. Man I miss that.

I told mine that mine doesnt have service at our camp but get text messaging, she has'nt figured it out yet that if you get text you get phone service. Yeah guys she is blond!!!!!!!!!!!
