By March 15th or mid March that the river was going to be around 50ft on the Ark city gauge. Now I tell you I do not believe everything I hear but they said it was coming from the Engineers who manage the infastructure of the River. It has been a while since it has reached that level. If this happens have fun with all the mosquitos Delta boys. A mosquito egg can be laid and sit in an unsuitable inviroment for 10yrs before it gets the water and temps needed to hatch.

I remember that year riding around our camp on the river in a boat. What was the ark city river stage at that time?

I not a meterologist by any means of the imagination, but common sense tells me that a record snowfall up north would mean a record runoff for us down here.

Yea I rode in a boat from the levee almost all the way to the main river took some pretty tough navigating though. We put in around Concordia Rod and gun club by Donaldson point. Hell when I was a small child I can remember all of the houses at terrine landing in Rdale under water back in the 80s

Also 1993
The Great Flood of 1993 occurred in the American Midwest, along the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers and their tributaries, from April to October of 1993. The flood was among the most costly and devastating to ever occur in The United States, with $15 billion in damages. The hydrographic basin affected cover around 745 miles (1200 km) in length and 435 miles (700 km) in width, totalling about 320,000 square miles (840,000 km²)[1]. Within this zone, the flooded area totalled around 30,000 square miles (80,000 km²)[2] and was the worst such U.S. disaster since the Great Mississippi Flood of 1927, as measured by duration, square miles inundated, persons displaced, crop and property damage, and number of record river levels. In some categories, the 1993 flood even surpassed the 1927 flood, at the time the largest flood ever recorded on the Mississippi.
