I've never seen anything like it in my life. There was one of every kind of duck....canvasbacks, ruddies, bluebills, bufflehead, ring necks, mallards, gadwalls, pintails, specks....on the bank, on the ice, in the water......SHEESH! I do believe every duck in the county was in this one area. It was unreal...the ice thawed during dinner, but around 11, they were packed so tight that you could have shot one time and taken a limit. We did have a great shoot this afternoon, after the ice thawed. Been a long time coming.

I talked to a young man this afternoon, whose partner I know, and he told me that they hunted Tallahatchie County this morning and got two limits. From the way he talked, they had alot of ducks. They were hunting a beanfield,I think he said.I haven't killed the first duck this season,so when he asked me if I knew anyone who wanted some ducks,I told him I sure did.HeHe Got eight of them right there in the parking lot and never fired a shot.lol He gave me two mallard drakes, two hens, one greenwing teal drake, one gadwall hen,and a spoonbill drake and hen.Mom's lookin in the recipe book right now.lol
