Does anyone know how to get around the window tint law? I believe the law states 26% and was wanting to go darker. Any info would be great...

Does your job require you to carry $$$$? Other than that, if you get pulled over get out the check book.

To the best of my knowledge only in certian cases in law enforcement. But it only effects windshield and driver and passenger side windows in the front. If you do have them tinted you must also have a tint sticker on the tinted windows signed off on by an inspection station.

Get them dark and lets see how long it takes to see another thread pop up complaining about a ticket or getting a felony stop done on you (multiple officers, guns drawn type deal) because the officer cannot see what you or your passengers are doing in the car and his safety is at risk. Do you have a medical condition requiring darker than normal windows? OR do you just want them darker to pimp yo ride? Just remember to not make any sudden movements or get your feelings hurt if you get a ticket/stopped. Good luck

$185 per window is the fine i have felt it and it sucks... Me and the Highway patrolman went toe to toe arguing about the tint on my truck. I told him that his was darker than my and the only reason that he had a sticker is because of the badge he carried around. I already was getting the ticket so i decided to get my $185 worth out of it.

So wouldn't that defeat the purpose of the officers safety being the purpose of this law? Pull over a car full of blue gum thugs with 2500 worth of stolen audio equipment and because the jigs have dope money they have a right to have a shotgun pointed at an unsuspecting officer? I believe that is the most ridiculous thing I have heard. Cite your source please or do some research on it before yyou get in chit over it. My factory cd player from gm was 500+ so I get an amp and sub to beat the system???

I have no clue man never had tint and don't care to...Just I have heard people who had it say something about the car insurance they pay and for it to cover their audio they have to pay extra and have tint to be eligible for it...Personally I could care less if it puts yours or anybody else's panties in a wad...If somebody pays 50,000 for a vehicle and want to protect investments inside of it then that is there buisness...I have met to many cops in my life that are just small town guys who could never make it at anything else and pulling people who actually have nice things and made something more of their lives makes them feel important and the fact that they can write a $100 ticket to somebody for that when there are WAY more serious issues going on is very ridiculous to me...
ON THE OTHER HAND
I know there are people who abuse it but that is life not everybody has respect for things like most the people on this forum do...They take advantages of laws and loopholes and I agree the officer should know what he is getting into but then again the cop cant see you until he gets to the window anyway? So I would think you could tint every window but the front 2? I know in a Yukon like ours you cant even see in any of the windows except driver and passenger...and that is stock!

I can assure you I do not have panties nor are they in a wad, I just find it comical when people bitch about the law for whatever reasons and how cops are jealous they didn't do anything with their lives EXCEPT put theirs on the line daily to protect griping asses. I am done with this argument, I fail to see how some stereo equipment is worth the safety of an officers life but who knows, that is probably a ridiculous notion too. To each his own I guess.

Get an Optometrist to write you a pass for illegal tint. You have to go to the courthouse and put it on your dmv record and also keep a copy in your car to show police.
