The passing of a legend

Though it may seem odd for me to be the one posting this, I thought that those of you who knew him might like to know.

On the 11th at 4:15 a.m ( just in time to greet the cold clear morning in the blind) my father, W.W. (Bill) Ramsey passed on.

HE had been in decline and all that knew him know he would rather have gone on than waste away as he had been doing.

So if you would, for me, next time you are together with duck hunting friends, raise a glass to the man who was my world. HE is beyond now, shooting the heavenly limit (one more then you have) and the birds are never call shy and the motor always runs.

Here's to my father and all the great man and women of the wilds who have gone on where we shall all join them in our time.

M.B. (BRadley Ramsey)

M B, Thanks for letting us share in a tribute to your father. I hope that Heaven is exactly as you described it and that Mr Bill is sharing a blind with the One whose wisdom and power is great enough to create the beauty of Mallards over the decoys. Best wishes.

My prayers are with you and your family through this hard time. Even though it is Gods plan to live and die it is never easy when a loved one completes his adventure. Rest assured that the true adventure is just starting and he like you is getting to spend time with his father once again.

Bradley,

I had the privilege of meeting your father a few years back at the family's camp on Eagle Lake. I heard some good stories that night over a fine supper cooked by your brother. As I have been in the Vicksburg area I have learned that your father had the respect of many. I bet Mr Ramsey and Howard Miller have already made a hunt together, most likely in the timber on a blue bird day. My prayers are with you and your family.

Tribute to a fine sportsman and gentleman:

William W. "Bill" Ramsey, a veteran of World War II, and lifelong resident of Vicksburg, was an avid outdoorsman and served as vice chairman of the Mississippi Flyway Council Advisory Board, regional director of Ducks Unlimited, a Charter Member of the Mississippi Sportsman's Association, and a member of the Mississippi Wildlife Federation. In 1993 he was honored as the first recipient of the Vicksburg Ducks Unlimited Sportsman of the Year Award.

Thank you, God, for hearing us when we pray. We trust your wisdom always to make our prayers complete.

Since I have lived in Vicksburg for the past 5 years, I have heard many stories about Bill Ramsey and Howard Miller. They probably are in the blind together right now. Few young people today have the opportunity to come up hunting with men like them. My thoughts are with the family of Bill Ramsey.

the passing of a legend is one thing, but the loss of a dad is another... his thoughts and wisdom will be with you for-ever...... if you catch yourself looking for his advise, or shedding a tear for him, it is because of your love for him...... my thoughts will be with you.....
