Need Some Input !

I was ask to have a fall Duck Dog Challenge , limited to the first 25 dog's entered . REAL birds will be used and handler will shoot poppers , and it will be an open event . We will have 3 places ,,,,,,,WIN , PLACE and SHOW ,,,,,,,,,,,$100 per dog ,,,,,pay out will be $1000 for 1st,,,,,,,,,,$600 for 2nd ,,,,,,,,$300 for 3rd ,,,,,,,leaving $500 for birds and bird boys .

So any input ya'll may have i would love to hear it before i set a date to do it ....................thanks CC

I went to the duck dog challenge they have in Horn Lake every year. THey have it set up just like a hunt test. You have started, seasoned, and finished. I think the entry was like 25 or maybe 50, I can't remember. They had lunch with that money and I believe that is all they do with the money. You get a trophy to keep for the year, but has to be given back at the beginning of the next even but I believe you get a plaque given to you then. Unless you just want to keep it small, I like the idea of the started, seasoned, finished thing so everybody gets a chance to be involved, course that may be what you mean, 25 dogs per catagory.

No i meen 25 dogs total ,,,,1 class OPEN . We will do the Charity Dog Challenge in May 09 , where we have all classes . This will be for CASH , if you want to run your dog be aware it will be open to any dog , and will be a more than a finished/master test . If i dont get enough positive feed back i will tell them im not doing it .

Sure, if you make 'em stand at the handlers side and make the handler throw and shoot 15 flyers with the dog steady while another dog picks 'em up.

MHO i would not worry with it. You have hunt test,club functions and hunting season going on or getting started. Too much to deal with in short period of time. Put ALL the extra efforts into the DDC that counts the one in MAY.

I agree, but I wouldn't qualify for the 25 dog test anyway, so my opinion probably doesn't really count. But you do do a hell of a lot of stuff to throw another thing into the mix!!

limited weekends (for me) to run anything anyway, so i'm in the "no" corner.

kinda hate even voting though, if you put it on folks will come and it'll be worth it for all involved, of that i have no doubt.

Kirby is nowhere near ready to run anything like that, so my "yes" vote doesn't give you a dog entry. If you do it, I will come and help.

Someone pm'd me an idea , invatation only ! That way no one come's thinking they were ripped off from the get go . And they know up front it will not be a give me and they are running for money .
