Guys on the way home each day for lunch I pass through an "underprivileged" area. And each day I see a group of 5 to 6 kids at the youngest highschool..oldest possibly early college...(estimate)..

My taxes are paying for them to stay at home and play basketball instead of being productive members of society...You see people who can barely for food/houses then ride around with spinners....

You should stop and take the ball away from them. Besides, you paid for it.

you dont pay them and see what happens, they ripped me a new one in 02 for not paying them, it was either pay them or go to jail, need to make a new law that if you get govt funds then you pee in a cup, you pop hot and no money foe you, and also make it a law that you can only have 1 child if you recieve these funds, i will pay extra to spay and nueter them,

We pay because the people that you describe have no idea about a days work for a days wages. They have been through multiple generations of sucking the sow which is our government. We can talk about what is right and wrong until we are blue but if the payments were cut off they would turn into animals immediately and burn every major city in the USA. Don't think im right, take a look at New Orleans after the levees broke.

I say quit the payments to the "underprivileged" all together. Use some of the monies saved to implement public school for 12 months out of the year and feed the children two good meals a day and send them home on the bus with a granola bar and an apple. And school shouldn't be over until 5:00 or 5:30, that way the parent(s) won't have to worry with afterschool care. Again, use the money to greatly enhance teacher pay and "extended" public school. This way anyone under 19 and in school will get food. If you are not in school, you don't get gov'mt food. Damn a man/woman who won't work - period. The kids will learn that the food is at school and may go instead of playing B'ball in the street all day.

I heard some info today that said 40-45% of all Americans do not pay taxes. So, work harder because millions on welfare depend on you.

my take....

i don't mind paying taxes for national security, necessary infrastructure, necessary welfare (ie. elderly and handicapped who honestly need help), public education, and a few other items. The problem is we pay way to much in unnecessary things that "fall within the budget". That is where I have a problem with taxes. Again, I understand taxes to some degree are a necessary evil, but a large % of what we pay is BS.
