You can get lead weight bags at Deep South Scuba. Not sure how much they are but they are sold by the pound and I think you can get a 5lb bag. or as many as you want. 601-957-3483

I saw them at Sportsman's Warehouse in Southaven and went back to buy some myself and saw they were gone. Where are you located? I got a few from Cives Steel at the port in Rosedale and have a relative that works there that can get me some if you need them.....I think they use them for sandblasting I Beams or it's scrap from their shop or something.

I just use old jeans and cut the legs off, sew the bottom up, fill with sand sew the top up and viola you have weight bags for the lead sled.

I ran into the same thing Chad when I bought my lead sled. Let me know what you decide to do and how well it works.

Go to your local brake shop and ask if you can have the metal shavings cut by the brake lathe. They'll probably be glad to let you get it. It works well and a smaller amount is heavier than a larger amount of sand. We use it. 8)

I use old boot socks filled w/ old tire weights. I found the socks in the dryer at camp and I got the old weights at a local tire store.

That's basically what I was talking about........two bags full of small lead scrap pellets. They are much heavier than sand and in smaller quantity will fit in the lead slead and it won't move a bit. I just hate the edges cutting my bags so I want a thicker bag so I don't get the lead pellets everywhere when I take it in my truck.
