Bay Kingfisher and I opened the season this morning here along the coast in the Jourdan River marsh covered in nats and mosquitos. Managed to kill a few mottled ducks and a mallard, so it wasn't to bad of a morning. Atleast my dog got to do some work, she was very happy. Sorry no pics, left my camera at my friends house. How did every one else do?

I killed mickey mouse and goofy. Let minnie walk in the name of conservation. Trying to do my part. Wife has me in Disney for the weekend so I'm living in cyber hunt land. Somebody get some pics on this thread before I have withdrawals. Only consolation is this bought me free control of the rest of the year.

Me? Oh, I awoke this am at 4:18 am and laid in the bed just thinking of duck hunting. Will depart later this afternoon for a 3-day hunt. I am 3 hours from camp and have a family to tend to for the Thanksgiving celebration. Currently, am watching the Macy's parade.
Hope it's the last time they open on Thanksgiving day...just not practical for any of us that travel to hunt 'em.
Hope those who did hunt this morning had a great time.

Saw tons of mallards but not a one that would work. The public land we were on had atleast 10 boats within prob. 200 yards of each other and the idiots beside us skybusted the hell out of everything that flew by. Other than that this has been the best opening morning I've had in a while because of all of the ducks we got to see. We had one group of about 100 mallards about 150 yards from us and guess what the idiots beside us started shooting. But anyway I still had fun.

Better than swatting nats and mosquitos in the Pascagoula Marsh after finding that every hole that holds ducks was covered up at 4AM. Pulled into a hole that someone had built a blind in, and they weren't there so we decided to hunt the hole but stay away from their blind. Keep in mind that this is public, so they came cruising right on into their blind 10-15 minutes behind us. We just picked up and moved. I guess we should've stayed...considering they don't own the hole, but we didn't want to get into a fight on opening day. If the rain holds off we'll be a little earlier tomorrow!

Me and five others killed 21 total. A couple of mallards, 5 gadwall, and 14 ringnecks. Never seen a ringneck before in the holes, but today was a different story.

Carried my 11 year old yesterday. 15-20 mallards came in about 5 minutes before legal shooting time. He killed a woodie and missed a couple of more.
